There are often aspects of natural stone restoration when undertaking natural stone floor cleaning. Every type of natural stone has its own characteristics and restoration challenges. Stone floors suffer from traffic wear and damage, because people move over them. In most cases, soil, stains and foot traffic scratches harm floor's finish, subsequently the need to have stone restoration. Highly polished Stone tiles and granite floors show up wear and tear quickly, as little traffic scuff marks on the stone surface dull the gloss and capture dirt. A surface sealer does not prevent permeable stone and tiles like Limestone, Sandstone & Terracotta eventually struggling with wear and spill damage.
Most natural stone and tile flooring has grout. Cementatious grout is generally softer than stone and much more at risk of abrasive and chemical damage. Many stone floors also commonly need to have crack, chip or hole repair.
Acid etching and scratches are usually taken out by grinding and honing.Natural stone has the appeal that a soiled, porous finish can be taken away, exposing an attractive new surface.
